Sean Harris Drives In Many Batters As Valley Kings Lose To CommandersPark

Sean Harris drove in four on two hits, but Valley Kings fell to Commanders 13-11 on Sunday at Verdugo Hills High School. Valley Kings lost despite out-hitting Commanders 14 to 13. Isao Shimokawaji, Kevin Fielding, Harris, and Jon Carberry each collected two hits for Valley Kings.

 

Valley Kings got on the board in the top of the first inning after Commanders committed an error, and Fielding singled to the left side of the infield, each scoring one run.

 

Five more Valley Kings runs crossed the plate in the second inning to extend the lead to 7-0. Daniels induced Raul Cabrera to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Harris homered to right field, scoring three runs, and Fielding grounded out, scoring one run.

 

Valley Kings added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Cabrera singled to the left side of the infield, and Commanders committed an error, each scoring one run.

 

Fielding hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the fourth for the Valley Kings.

 

Commanders scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Shane Brando singled, scoring one run, Ben Staub hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Adam homered to left field, scoring three runs.

 

Commanders jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning after Andrew doubled to right field, Ian singled to center field, Anthony Ramos singled to left field, and Staub singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.

 

Van Lynch earned the win for Commanders. The reliever surrendered seven hits and four runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking one.

 

Richard Lopez took the loss for Valley Kings. The reliever went two innings, surrendering four runs (three earned) on four hits, striking out three and walking three.

 

Hank Teverbaugh began the game for Valley Kings. The right-handed pitcher allowed six hits and nine runs (six earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking three.

 

Daniels started on the hill for Commanders. The starting pitcher allowed six hits and six runs (five earned) over two innings, striking out one and walking three. Nick Sword earned the save.

 

Valley Kings tallied 14 hits in the game. Joseph Ruffin stole two bases. Valley Kings turned one double play in the game. 

 

 Valley Kings will travel to The Oaks for their next game on Sunday.
